Bridging Waters

This 5.4m wide waterfall above a re-opened dock feeder canal is part of the creation of a new public square and event space in Cardiff to create a more amenable environment within the city centre.

A castellated chute made of stainless steel with a rear mounted distribution channel creates rivulets of falling water into the canal beneath the pedestrian bridge.

The public can enjoy the sound and sight of the flowing water as they approach the bridge along the walkways that run alongside the re-opened waterway and from above as they pass.

The feature utilises water from the canal via an adjacent pump chamber.

To further improve the experience, the feature incorporates lighting that illuminates the waterfall.
